Stefan Fleischer präsentiert wiedergefundene und durch Rahmung auf einen anderen Level transformierte Puzzleteile. (De)kontextualisiert verlieren sie ihren kunsthandwerklichen Charakter und schaffen Raum für individuelle Konnotationen. Wie beeinflusst der Transformationsprozess das künstlerische Forschen?

 The project investigates the history of jigsaw puzzles, starting from their use as a didactic tool for geography lessons in the middle of the 18th century. Following the jigsaw puzzle’s logic and structure, the concept of the single object is challenged while playing with visual, haptic and manufacturing qualities. Missing pieces found or replaced in actual size are presented framed in a Lecture Performance about selected jigsaw puzzles and descriptions of the process of dealing with their inherent structures, shifting the craft origins to a different level while leaving space open for individual connotation.
